Authors, Is it Time?
What does Books and Pens on Green Gables do during a manuscript review?
A manuscript review is often the first time an author has another set of eyes on their newest work.
When Books and Pens does a manuscript review, we'll begin with several questions.
A few of those include:
What stage of writing is your manuscript in?
What is the genre?
Who is your audience?
What is the tone you want your book to convey?
And, more!
Once I receive your manuscript, I will do a thorough reading, making notes as I go. I will note things such as:
Where were strong points/weaker points?
Did the character descriptions let me know who was who shortly after meeting them?
Did the tone fit with the genre/audience it was meant for?
Did I get confused by any of the details?
Were there too many characters to keep track of?
Were there areas that need more details to help them stand out?
And, more!
Once I have completed reading the manuscript, we'll meet via video to talk about it. Before this consultation, I'll send you the complete report so we can go through it together.
I look forward to working with you! Please contact me with questions! janell@bpongreen.com
