Books as Gifts for Kids

Kids and Christmas. The excitement, the anticipation, the joy! The gifts, the business, the need for quiet time. (not trying to be a scrooge, but we all get tired with being extra busy through the holiday season) and.....

This is where BOOKS come in! If you get your favorite kiddo a new book (or a few), it is a great way to get a little quiet time together, maybe even a nap!

Below is a list of some of my favorite kids books! All of the kids books on Books and Pens on Green Gables are fabulous, but these are a few that stole little pieces of my heart!

But, before getting to that list, I want to share story. When I was a kid, we had some special books that only came out as Christmas time. I think they were kept with the Christmas decorations in storage. Oh, how I LOVED those books! There are three I can still remember bits and pieces of. When our kids were young, my mom gave me some of those books and I continued the tradition. The joy and surprise each year of opening that box of decorations took me back in time. I'd like to encourage you to start a tradition like that one! If you do, let me know! I'd love to hear about it.
