Fever Dream by Britney King

"Another win by one of my favorite authors, Britney King. Her books are all books that you don't read, you DEVOUR. You start them and it is so hard to stop reading. Then you finish it and think...Wow! What just happened?!!—Each one, every time, amazing!"—Books and Pens on Green Gables

Fever Dream by Britney King

A typical marriage in the 1960s. Husband works, wife stays home with the kids. In this marriage, Charles travels for work—a lot—and Grace is home with the kids. Three of them, mostly alone. A neighbor and Grace swap playdates a bit, but Grace and Charles are fairly new to the neighborhood.

So, how does Grace go from being a wife and mom to a woman alone in an institution trying to figure out where her husband and oldest two children are?

Baby Phillip had a high fever. Grace was at the hospital with him. Charles was going to wait until the older two woke up and drop them at his parent's house. Sometime during the night, they all disappeared and Grace is assumed guilty. Grace knows she is not guilty, but how do you convince anyone of that when you've been placed in an asylum? Dr. Branson is no help with his extreme and brutal therapies.

When Grace gets a roommate, things get shaken up a bit. It seems shaking things up is what Elizabeth does best. But how will that help to find Grace's missing family?
