Island Secrets is a great book to get lost in on a lazy afternoon! You’ll get drawn in quickly to the main characters, Ginger and Beau’s story! The couple is looking forward to their beach vacation and an escape from work to rest and relax. They’re excited to see the house they have rented and are happy with their choice when they see it. They head for the beach right away, and as they leave, sunburned and tired, Ginger finds an unexpected treasure. When they get back to the house, Ginger has some strange things happen—or was it all a dream? She is frightened by what seemed so vivid and real. Has Ginger developed an overactive imagination on this trip? Or are they in danger?
She and Beau keep finding ways to try to enjoy their vacation–and keep Ginger’s mind occupied. When the couple visits the local coin shop and museum to learn about what they found, even more things start happening that can’t be explained. And, is someone following them? Soon they know they have to leave the house they believe is haunted, but where can they go that they will be safe?
They soon stay somewhere unexpected and learn more about the island’s history. Will history explain what has happened? Or will they leave the island and never return?
Island Secrets by Jacqueline Terrill drew me in quickly! I loved Ginger and Beau’s relationship and their fun, flirty style with each other. Great character descriptions made me feel like I could see each person while reading. And, I felt like I could feel the hot sand on my feet and the sunburn on my shoulders!
