The Resentment by T.O. Paine

"Addiction, mental health, a misunderstood teenager, greed, and grief are all at play in this suspenseful book!"-Books and Pens on Green Gables

This book starts off running! A bridge, a car, a woman holding onto her husband's wrists as he dangles over the side of the bridge after running from the out-of-control vehicle. The river is raging below-he can't swim-she is losing her grip! He falls.

The woman loses control. Their teenage son is afraid of her anger. Her brother-in-law is scared of her anger-and her friend-only one friend-has seen her rage. It is out of control. She becomes out of control, not knowing what she has said or done. She literally sees red.

When others come into the book and greed is revealed, things start to come together.

It's a great book! BUT... I got super confused... I went back and reread (maybe I was distracted this first time? Or tired?)...I was still confused...I reread it again. Unfortunately, even after that, I don't know what happened in a huge part of the book. I don't know why one character even existed...I don't understand the timeline. It was great until what would probably be called "the twist,"...but it just didn't make sense to me.

I was given this book to read and review.
