“Perfect As You Are” by Amanda Soria

“Perfect As You Are: Understanding and Accepting Children with Disabilities” by Amanda Soria, illustrated by Shavel Grayson

“This book! “Perfect As You Are: Understanding and Accepting Children with Disabilities” is an amazing guide for helping kids understand others with disabilities. A book about acceptance, friendship, and understanding. A great book for everyone to read with their kids!”-Green Gables Book Reviews

Ayden and Ryan are on their way to school when they meet many new friends! The boys meet Ezzy, Kash, Nora, Gracie, Nathan, and Aiden.

Each of their new friends was created by God and they are perfect as they are!

Their friend Ezzy is blind. She would love a “Hello” and to make new friends.

Kash was born with Down Syndrome, he wants to feel accepted and not set apart.

Nora was born with Spina Bifida, just because she cannot walk doesn’t mean she cannot talk.

Gracie is talking with her hands, instead of her voice. She tells the boys, “You can smile or wave, a little attention is all I crave.”

Nathan has Muscular Dystrophy and is in a wheelchair. He loves to play games!

Their new friend Aiden was born with Autism and it is hard for him to stay focused.

As the boys meet each new friend, they say, “God created you from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. He loves you more than you will ever know. You were made with a purpose and in His eyes you are flawless. Just as He made each and every star, He made you, PERFECT AS YOU ARE!”

This book has wonderful illustrations and such an important message. It is well written and is filled with positivity and love! A book that everyone should read to their young kids and grandkids.

5 stars!
